Musical Development
So much has changed in today's music world. Music is all around us: on the radio, in commercials, even on computers, and what we hear is a diversity that we have never had before. The musical development of boys and girls includes a wide variety of styles and sounds: from Bach and blues to pop and jazz. These are all part of the studio's essential curriculum. No longer do students simply memorize by rote, but they are taught to understand how what they are learning can be applied elsewhere. Now students learn to sight-read, transpose, recognize key signatures, improvise, and compose....giving them an understanding and appreciation of music which will enhance a lifelong enjoyment of music.
Private Lessons
Private lessons are scheduled once a week for a 30, 45, or 60 minute session. Teaching is one-on-one and has many lasting effects. For example...
• Instilling a love and understanding of music
• Building self-confidence, self-reliance, and self-respect
• Developing a creative & mind stimulating outlet
Special care is taken to ensure musical selections are enjoyable and something new is learned with each selection.

Ages for Lessons
Young Children
This studio starts piano lessons anywhere between kindergarten through adult. Young children are treated with great respect and lessons are suited to each individual. Everyone has their own pace and encouragment is given to all. People often ask when to start lessons for a little one. Two good indicators are the ability to count to 20, and knowing the alphabet. But the most important indicator is the child's interest! If the student does not want lessons, there is no use in forcing it. There must be genuine interest for lessons to be successful. Grade School
Many students start out at this age level and find great enjoyment and creativity in taking lessons. While every age group experiences this, grade school children have enhanced enthusiasm and can learn early good musical habits before bad ones set in. This age is one that students soak up musical information (and all information for that matter) like a sponge. A great starting time.
Junior High
This is a great time for students to have an emotional outlet through music. Playing the classics and popular music allow students in junior high to express themselves and show individuality. A greater attention span also gives this level an advantage over younger children.
High School
High school students enjoy lessons for the same reasons junior high's do, but have a greater sense of responsibility at this point. Many musicians have started at this point to find great success in the bridge between having both the concentration of an adult and the drive of younger students. This is quite a combination, and can lead to musical success.
Adult Students
There is growing interest in taking lessons as an adult in the past decade. There are many reasons adults enjoy lessons, including stress relief from work, having a valuable hobby and secondary skill, the love and appreciation of music in general, the introspection that comes with playing the piano, and so many more reasons. This studio takes great care of adults who want to pick up the piano again who studied all those years ago, and makes the brand new student comfortable and inspired. Click here for more information.
