| Paul Nazzaro Paul Nazzaro's love of music began early while taking piano lessons at the age of 8 years old, and he later began been teaching private and group piano classes in high school in 1985. He graduated with a B.A. in classical piano from The Catholic University Of America in Washington, DC in 1993. Mr. Nazzaro has been on the staff of the Springfield and Milltown school systems, is a state certified music teacher, a member of the National Music Teachers Association (MTNA), a certified Kindermusik Teacher, and a member of the Westfield Chamber Of Commerce. He currently teaches full time in his studio with about 80 students and a staff of 3 supporting teachers.
Mr. Nazzaro has published numerous piano books for the elementary and intermediate levels, part of the Nazzaro Music Adventures Series. He has mastered and produced many professional CDs in his studio—for his students, his professional clients, and his own compositions. He has trained many music professionals in digital recording, computer music notation, and theory and composition.
While classically trained, Mr. Nazzaro is proficient in and enjoys teaching many genres of music, such as jazz, popular, new age, folk, Christian, Broadway, rock, and many others. He continues to expand his own musical development by writing and arranging music on computers, writing his own music book series for children, enrolling in further musical studies at Westminster Choir College in Princeton, NJ, and being an active member of the St. Helen's Catholic Community Music Ministry in Westfield. |

Anna Khanina has taught students of all ages and levels since 1996. She has taught as a private teacher, as well as on the faculty of the Piano School of New York. Anna is currently finishing her Doctorate (Doctor of Musical Arts) at the SUNY at Stony Brook, NY (under full tuition scholarship), and has been a Teaching Assistant there as well.
Anna holds two Master of Music degrees with honors: from the Gnessin School of Music in Moscow, and from the University of Music and Drama in Hannover, Germany. She also holds a Performance Diploma from the Chicago College of Performing Arts at Roosevelt University in Chicago, IL, and played as an accompanist at the Chicago College of Performing Arts as well.
Anna Khanina is a laureate of many international competitions. Among her prizes are First Prize at the International Piano Competition Classica Nova (in memoriam Dimitri Shostakovich) in Hannover (1997), Second Prize at the Ciutat de Carlet International Competition in Spain (2003), Third Prize at Nueva Acropolis International Competition in Madrid (2003), and Second Prize at the International Competition Silvio Bengalli Piano Prize in Val Tidone, Italy (2004).
Until 1996 Khanina mainly played in Russia. Since 1997, concerts have taken her all over Germany, Asia, United States, and Israel. She was broadcast live on WFMT Chicago, The Voice of Music radio from Jerusalem Music Centre, and recently on WQXR New York Classical Radio Station. Her engagements include concerts with Northwest Symphony Orchestra, Jeunesses Musicales Orchestra, and Bacau Symphony Orchestra.
She has been invited to many renowned festivals, such as the Schleswig-Hollstein Music Festival, the Braunschweig Classix Music Festival, and the Norfolk Chamber Music Festival: the summer home of the Yale School of Music. This year she was invited to be a part of the Collaborative Piano Program at Banff Centre. In 2009 she became a Finalist of the New World Symphony Orchestra and was invited to participate in several concerts in Miami, working under conductors Jeffrey Milarsky and Osmo Vänskä.
Anna Khanina is also very much engaged in the field of chamber music. She has worked with such renowned artists as the Emerson Quartet, Tokyo String Quartet, Shmuel Ashkenazi, Robert Chen, Vladimir Krainev, Frank Morelli, David Shifrin, Claude and Pamela Frank, among others. She collaborated with Wei-Yi Yang and Steven Doane and recently played at the faculty concerts at Stony Brook, where she performed with Frank Morelli and Alan Kay. Since 2005, Anna plays in a duo with the Israeli violinist Guy Figer. Her solo and chamber repertoire consists of many pillars of the standard classical repertory. A strong advocate for new and contemporary compositions, she has had the privilege of premiering many new works. |

Marie Blair Marie’s piano teaching has spanned more than 15 years across the United States and England. She has served as piano faculty at the University of Michigan as Adjunct Faculty and Staff Accompanist, taught at Michigan State Community Music School, Dennis Conti’s piano school, and the New York Music and Art’s Music School. She holds degrees from Michigan State University (MSU), the University of Cincinnati College’s Conservatory of Music, a Master’s degree from Stony Brook University, NY, and diplomas from the Royal Northern College of Music (RNCM) in England. At RNCM she won the 2002 J.S. Bach Prize and the 2002 Piano Duo Prize. Her teachers include Deborah Moriarty, Frank Weinstock, and Benjamin Frith.
She has played concerts in Michigan, Ohio, Wisconsin, Nebraska, Florida, New York, Manchester and London, UK, and Bermuda, and has played concerti with the MSU Wind Symphony, the American Wind Symphony Orchestra, and the RNCM Baroque Ensemble. Marie also is an avid harpsichord player, studying with Gary Cooper, Edward Parmentier, and Arthur Haas.
Marie is currently living and working as a freelance musician in New York City. She holds the position of organist/choir director at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in Islip, NY, and is also Artistic Director for the St. Mark’s Early Music Concert Series. Since moving to New York, Marie has maintained contacts with her home state of Michigan, as a piano instructor at Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp and accompanist for the Leonard Falcone International Tuba-Euphonium competition. |

Brynne Bartiromo Brynne is our student teacher on the staff with remarkable accomplishments for her age. She is a sophomore at Scotch Plains Fanwood High School this Fall. She has been studying piano for about 7 years at the Nazzaro Music Studio, and has performed in each year’s recitals and parties. Brynne has performed as the keyboardist for the Terrill School Jazz Band and Concert Band for 4 years, as well as an accompanist for the school Chorus. Brynne is in the High School Music Program soon.
Brynne’s dedication to her musical studies has already led her to performing and recording many advanced pieces such as Mozart Sonatas, sonatinas, advanced popular pieces, and jazz standards. Brynne has composed many of her own works for solo piano, including The Four Seasons, a multi-movement piece which she performed in recital.
Brynne has gone through extensive training with Mr. Nazzaro and has a talent not only for music, but making music fun for every student. Brynne is looking forward to a career in teaching music as well as composing. |
