For New Students and Current Students
The summer session at the studio is an excellent way to try out lessons in a relaxed manner for any student thinking of starting or continuing lessons. While it is recommended to try lessons for one full year to give them an accurate picture of lessons, this session is designed to give a "snapshot" of lessons at the studio. Remember, just like playing a sport, ice skating, dancing, or learning a foreign language, music takes time to develop. Please read the Summer Session Form located as a PDF to the right.
Flexible For Busy Families
Lessons are on Wednesdays from roughly 3:15 to 9:15 pm based on availability. ONLY MR. NAZZARO IS AVAILABLE FOR LESSONS OVER THE SUMMER (mostly for scheduling issues). The Summer Session at the studio is meant to be flexible and fit in with most family’s vacation schedules. There are many benefits to continuing lessons in the summer, including studying pieces of your choice and the opportunity to add to your CD pieces. You need to discuss your summer plans with your family and your child. What is most important is that your child enjoy the piano and music, and not be forced to move ahead. Involvement in the Summer Session does not guarantee a time for the academic year schedule. Please ask for availability when inquiring.
Payments
Because the lessons are about every other week, HOUR LESSONS ARE REQUIRED. The cost is $70 per hour lesson, which is due when reserving times. You may sign up for 1,2,3, or 4 lessons of the session. Materials will be billed once in June and once in July. (Usually around $15) All payments upon receipt are not refundable. No lessons are given in August. CDs cost $15 each.
Practicing Guidelines
Practicing is at the heart of continued success. Parents are asked to provide a specific time each day and an appropriate atmosphere for the instructions on the lesson plan. A minimum guideline is usually five thirty-minute practices per week for beginners. See the Weekly Practice Schedule.
Parental Involvement
Please be sure to read the Parental Support Page on the web for helpful ways to encourage your child. Please keep me informed with how piano/keyboards go each week. Parent, student, teacher communication is an important key for your child's enjoyment and success in music.
